Aime gives your business a private email address. Photograph a receipt or invoice on your phone, send it to that address, and the figures and the original image are read and stored. A confirmation of what was read comes back, usually inside a minute.

01
Sign up once and Aime issues an email address that belongs only to your business. Save it in your phone contacts as "Receipts". That is the whole setup.
02
Fuel dock, merchant counter, supplier invoice in the inbox. Take the photo at the counter or forward the email as it arrives. Crumpled paper, thermal till rolls and photos taken on the dash are all fine.
03
Supplier, date, total, GST and the GST number are pulled off the document. The original image is kept alongside the figures, so the record and the evidence never come apart.
04
A confirmation email comes back, usually within a minute, listing exactly what was read. If a figure looks wrong you reply to the email and it is corrected.
Nothing is filed silently. The reply states what was read, in the order your accountant asks for it, with a link to the stored image.
No. Your phone camera and your email are the whole system. There is nothing to install and no password to lose on site.
Reply to the confirmation with the right figure. Anything the system cannot read with confidence is held for review rather than filed quietly.
GST and the supplier's GST number are read as separate fields, and the original image is retained as the record for IRD.
We never invent a GST figure. If it is printed, we read it. If we work it out, we say so.
Yes. Type a line in the body of the email and it is read along with the photo. Five things can be asked for:
You can send words with no photo at all. Anything else — changing a figure, undoing something, taking hours off — is done on the website, and the reply tells you so rather than leaving you guessing.
Keeping your own records is your responsibility, not ours — we hold a copy for your convenience and you can export the lot at any time. Talk to your accountant about what they want you to keep.
Send it whenever. There is no cut-off at our end, and a docket is filed against the date printed on it rather than the day you email it — so one bought in June and sent in August is still filed under June.
Lost it altogether? Go back to the shop and ask for a copy. Most suppliers can reprint from the till or reissue an invoice off your account, and that copy is worth the same as the original.
You can send several in one email, or let somebody at the office put a pile through. There is no deadline at our end.
Yes. Give the address to anyone who spends on the business. Every document lands in the same place, tagged with who sent it.
No. Your private address only accepts mail from the addresses you have given us. Anything from anywhere else is ignored rather than filed, so somebody who learns your address cannot push documents into your books.
You, and anyone you deliberately share them with. Your records live in a workspace of your own, not a shared one with your name on a column — another customer cannot see your receipts by accident, because there is no place their view and yours could overlap.
We can see them, because something has to read the docket and file it, and if you write to us for help we have to be able to look at the thing you are asking about. We are not going to pretend otherwise.
With secure providers based in the United States — the same setup most New Zealand cloud software uses. You can export everything at any time.
Yes. Export everything as a spreadsheet in Xero's format with the original images alongside it — one file to hand over, covering whatever period they ask for.
You take them with you. One link gives you the spreadsheet and every original photo in a single file — that is the copy to keep, and it is yours whether you are a customer or not.
We built the export before we built the sales page on purpose. A service that makes it hard to leave is telling you something about itself.
Free for 30 days, and we do not ask for a card to start. We will tell you the monthly price, in writing, well before the free period ends — and if you do not want it, you do nothing and it stops.
Aime is not open to everyone yet — have a look around, and write to us if you want in early.
A real person reads these, and there is no sales sequence waiting at the other end of it. If Aime is not right for how you work, we would rather say so than sign you up.
